Thanks to the dedication and tenacity of Queen’s students and community members, over $1 million has been raised through two student-led initiatives: Relay for Life and the Cure Cancer Classic! These incredible fundraising efforts support the Canadian Cancer Society in advancing transformative cancer research and care here at the Sinclair Cancer Research Institute (SCRI) and our Canadian Cancer Trials Group (CCT) division.
Congratulations to all of our 2026 Sinclair Summer Studentships in Cancer Research awardees! We’re excited to engage with these exceptional students over the summer!
Established in 2025, these awards fund graduate students pursuing MSc or PhD training in the field of cancer research. Studentships are open to incoming and current MSc and PhD students who are supervised by a SCRI faculty member (primary or associate member) in a graduate program at Queen’s University. Please email us at scri@queensu.ca for further information.
Co-led by our CCT division's, Dr. Christopher Booth and Dr. Kerry Courneya (University of Alberta), the Canadian Cancer Trials Group CHALLENGE trial showed that even simple activities like walking can make a meaningful difference.
Another captivating seminar coming up! Dr. Jim Petrik from the University of Guelph, hosted by one of our SCRI associate members, Dr. Lynne-Marie Postovit, will be presenting here in Kingston on April 7th at 4 PM. Everyone is welcome to join!
Join us next week for a talk hosted by our Director, Dr. Andrew Craig featuring Dr. Xian Wang of Smith Engineering! Everyone is welcome to attend. Questions? Email us at scri@queensu.ca.
